Assistant Types
Each type has different greeting behavior and call handling logic.
Editing an Assistant
Click on an assistant to open the edit form. Settings are organized into two tabs:General
- Name (required) — The assistant’s display name.
- Type — Inbound, Outbound, or Website.
- Description (optional) — A brief note about what this assistant handles.
Configuration
- Default Task Assignees — Select one or more team members who will be automatically assigned to tasks created from this assistant’s calls. This ensures follow-up work goes to the right people.
- Knowledge Base — Link a knowledge base that the assistant can query during conversations to answer questions. Select “No knowledge base” to unlink.
- Automated Tasks — Define tasks that the AI can complete on its own during calls (e.g., “Send intake form”, “Collect insurance information”). These help prevent duplicate manual work by telling the system what the assistant handles automatically. To add a task, type a description and click the + button or press Enter. Click X on any task to remove it.
Default Task Assignees
When an AI assistant creates a task from a call (e.g., “Patient needs callback”), the task is automatically assigned to the users listed as default assignees. This ensures nothing falls through the cracks.- You can assign multiple users
- Assignees are shown as avatars on the assistants list
- If no assignees are set, tasks created by the assistant will be unassigned
