Users
The Users page lets you control who has access to your company account. Invite new team members by email, assign Admin or User roles, and remove people who no longer need access.
Manage your team from Settings → Users.
Quick Start
- Go to Settings → Users in your Solum dashboard.
- Enter an email address in the invite field and click Send Invitation.
- The invitee receives an email with a link to create their password.
- Once they accept, they appear in your members list.
Roles
Every team member has one of two roles:
| Role | Permissions |
|---|
| Admin | Full access. Can invite users, change roles, and remove members. |
| User | Standard access. Can use the platform but cannot manage team members. |
Only Admins see the actions menu next to each member.
Inviting a User
- Enter the new member’s email address in the invite field.
- Click Send Invitation.
- The invitee receives an email titled “You’re invited to join [Your Company]” with a link to set up their account.
- The link expires after 7 days.
- Until they accept, they appear in the members list with a Pending badge.
If someone already has a Solum account with another company, they are added to your company immediately — no new password needed.
Resending an Invitation
If an invite expires or the email was missed, open the actions menu (three dots) next to the pending user and click Resend Invitation. This generates a fresh 7-day link.
Changing a Role
- Find the user in the members list.
- Open the actions menu (three dots).
- Click Make Admin or Make User to toggle their role.
You cannot change your own role.
Removing a User
- Find the user in the members list.
- Open the actions menu (three dots).
- Click Remove.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Removing a user revokes their access to your company immediately. If this is their only company, their password is reset for security — they will need a new invitation to regain access.
If the user belongs to other companies on Solum, they keep access to those accounts. They can be re-invited to your company later.
Password Requirements
When accepting an invitation, users must create a password that meets these requirements:
- At least 12 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character (
!@#$%^&*(),.?":{}|<>)
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|
| ”User already exists in this company” | That email is already a member. Check the members list — they may have a Pending badge if they haven’t accepted yet. |
| Invitation email not received | Ask the invitee to check their spam or junk folder. The email comes from notifications@updates.getsolum.com. If it’s not there, resend the invitation. |
| Invitation link expired | Open the actions menu next to the pending user and click Resend Invitation to send a fresh link. |
| Cannot invite or manage users | Only Admins can manage team members. Ask an Admin to perform the action or change your role. |
| Removed user can still log in | If they belong to other companies, they retain access to those. They no longer have access to your company. |
| User shows as “Pending” | They haven’t accepted the invitation yet. Resend it if the link may have expired. |
